"Oh my God!" Mira said, in barely an audible voice, as she scrambled for Thulman’s phone. She was paging Vanduran with this right away! She debated about calling Rollie and Angie, but decided to wait for Vanduran’s response- she didn’t want to incur his wrath by sidestepping him and plunging ahead. She did get Francis who had just made it home. He had barely kissed Sarah hello before he was headed back to the station to meet her.

Marvin Vanduran sat at a table at Saltwater Jack’s, looking at the most incredible woman he had ever met! It didn’t bother him that she carried most of the conversation or that people could hear everything she was saying or that she talked with her hands, nearly hitting the waiter several times. What mattered was that she truly was speaking to him, and how comfortable he felt with her. Lucinda Scott would squeeze his hand during conversation or barely touch his arm, causing the hair on it to raise and send shivers down his spine. This woman could be the one, he told himself as she stopped talking for a moment and took a bite of salmon.

"You’re amazing!" he said, as Lucinda looked at his plate, barely touched, shaking her head.

"You gonna eat that or just gawk at me all night, Marvin!" she replied, laughing.

"Just not hungry…I guess it’s the company that I’m digesting on…" he said, smiling as she grinned and leaned forward, raising her eyebrows.

"In that case, you wouldn’t mind if I took the rest of your filet there, gosh- I have surf and turf now!" she remarked, as he looked stunned at her for a moment. He then, pushed his plate forward as she eagerly stabbed the filet mignon with her fork, bringing it back to her plate, almost greedily.

Lucinda sliced a piece of filet and let it sink in her mouth, melting as she moaned slight, grinning again at Marvin Vanduran. He was really some kind of guy! she thought to herself as she suddenly stopped chewing and looked at him with her eyes widening.

"OH! So, what’s our next move, Marvin?" she asked as he nearly fell over with a heart attack. He had thought she was choking on a piece of meat, the look she had given him.

"Uh, well- in the morning, we pick up this fake Tony’s movements and follow him back to his lair…give him the squeeze, you know!" Vanduran told her, squeezing the air in emphasis.

Lucinda mirrored his action and chuckled. This was going to be fun and it would really help Angie and Rollie out! She had felt so useless since they had come home. She popped another piece of filet in her mouth and winked at Marvin whose cheeks blushed with fierce definition. He was so cute! she thought as he cleared his voice and played with his napkin.

Rolph Mer feigned tiredness and went off to the guestroom around ten that night as Rollie sat with Angie on the couch, their son tucked away upstairs for the night. His mind was racing with both the possibility of sight and the earnest pursuit and showdown with Tony, whatever his real name was!

"Penny for your thoughts?" he heard Angie ask as he felt her relax against him now that Rolph was gone.

"Oh, well- I was thinking about how wonderful it will be when I get to see my beautiful Angie again!" he said, clenching his jaw tightly.

"Liar! You were thinking about Tony, what you are going to do to him if you get your hands on him!" Angie retorted, her hand gripping his arm as she then touched his face, feeling his jaw relax.

"Um, yeah- well, that too. But you’re wrong, I was thinking about you too, every bit of you! Your face, the way your dimples there show when you grin, and well, your eyes, sweetie…I want to see those pools of blue and then there’s your lips…" and he reached over, his fingers magically meeting their destination of discussion as she smiled amazed at his ability without seeing her.

He smiled, feeling her smile as he leaned over and pressed his lips against hers, ready to release her until he felt her lips open slightly and he felt her hungrily taste him. He responded in kind, feeling her hands move across him, telling him her desire as she pushed him slightly down, coming to rest on top of him. He felt her straddling him, her hips moving on him slowly as he reacted with a surge of bound intensity.

His hands moved to her shoulders, resting slightly there before moving down across her chest, and finally going up under her blouse….

There was sudden cough that came from the guestroom and Rollie jumped slightly as Angie’s lips came down close to his ear in a husky whisper; "we need to continue this upstairs…"

He felt her get up off him and he groaned slightly, feeling her pull on his hand, getting him up from the couch. Without another word, he followed her lead as she told Bluey to get the lights downstairs. They climbed the staircase, hand in hand as Angie lead Rollie inside their room. Shutting the door, he heard her let out a small cry as he felt her push him down on the bed. Her aggressive stance with him made him smile as he unbuttoned his shirt, reaching up and helping her with her blouse. Once he felt her unencumbered, he laid back, feeling her fumble with his belt and jeans.

Rollie felt her wondrous skin, the feel of her warmth against him and he told her how marvelous she felt and how he loved her as she mirrored his compliments with her own. With such intensity in his mind, and in his feel of her lovemaking; it came as a shock when the images of colors flew around in his mind’s eye, swirling in a pattern like a helix as a sudden dull flash of light tore through the blackness. An image appeared, hazy but there…fleeting, but there!

"Bloody spectacular!" he exclaimed, as a culmination of lovemaking and light jolted him into an ever-expanding wave of satisfaction.

Angie heard his declaration, her own desires quenched as she lay on top of him, breathing heavily, her skin moist with perspiration as their chests rose and fell together in exhaustion.

"Thanks, I guess!" she said, almost in a pant, as her face rested on Rollie’s chest.

He laughed, her face being bounced off his chest by his hearty exuberance.

"What?"

"Oh, yeah- you were great too, love!"

"Then, what did you mean by ‘bloody spectacular’ ?"

"Um, just that I got my first bolt of light and sweetie, it was your baby blues!"

Marvin Vanduran had just been paged. With a frown on his face, he excused himself from the table after watching Lucinda down a full flute of chocolate mousse, licking her lips almost sensuously afterwards.

"Yeah, what?" he asked, holding the phone receiver on his shoulder, having recognized the precinct number.

"It’s Sanchez and we got a match on your print that Lucinda Scott brought in on that Tony Alvarez alias."

"What? I thought the database came up empty on a match?" Vanduran replied, perplexed.

"Yeah, that did. But I had this hunch and ran it against my print that we just got back from the lab on the Davenport murder…you won’t believe it! It’s a match! This guy is the same guy. We have our serial killer and he’s working for Angie Tyler!"

"Good God!" Vanduran told her and then quickly thought out his initial plan; "whatever you do, don’t tell Rollie and Angie. We have to set this thing up for real. I’ll meet you back at the station in a half-hour. I have Lucinda Scott with me right now, I need to take her home. I don’t want her to know about this serial killer either. Great work, Sanchez."

"Thanks Cap! See you soon," she replied and he hung up. Great! Right in the middle of his date, comes the answer he’s been waiting for, for over two years!

Marvin Vanduran went back to his table and smiled at Lucinda; "Looks like duty calls, Lucinda. I have to go back to the precinct. It’s an emergency."

"Oh," Lucinda replied, frowning slightly and pouted, "and we were just getting warmed up!"

Vanduran nearly choked now as he stood up and helped her from her seat, smiling at her as they exited the restaurant. Once he arrived at the Plaza, he double-parked, barking at the doorman, flashing his badge as he opened Lucinda’s door and assisted her out.

"I had a great time, Marvin," she said, still pouting slightly as he shook his head.

"I’m so sorry, Lucinda. Can we make another date, say one where I am not on-call?"

"Hmmm, maybe," she said, "Let me see first…"

He looked at her, wondering what she meant by that when she reached up and kissed him without warning. He melted all the way to his toes as he responded to the ever-lengthening kiss. He smiled as she broke away from him and blew him another kiss.

"Okay, you can have your rain-check!" she told him, and ran up the stairs toward the door of the hotel.

Vanduran looked up at her, her hair flying around her shoulders with the breeze and he waved at her as she disappeared inside, turning back once and returning his wave.

"She doth teach the torches to burn bright!" he said, recalling his Shakespeare as the Plaza doorman looked at him in bothered annoyance and waved him off.

Angie woke up, startled. She had heard something, or maybe it was a dream. She heard Aidan stirring in the next room and she pulled away from Rollie as she got up, pulling her robe on and going to her son.

As she walked into the small room, she felt a sudden, prickly fear rise in her stomach. She flicked on the small light next to the crib and cried out; Aidan was not in his crib!

"So, our plan is to get that security video of Angie’s that Lucinda mentioned, that had our boy Tony going through some sort of wild man thing- Gatti, you check out NYU with the real Alvarez and have him look at this guy. Maybe he can identify him. Maybe this guy was in one of his classes. Sanchez, you and me- we stake out the loft from a distance and see if he shows up in the morning. One way or another, we are going to get our man!"

Vanduran was pacing in the aisle while his two best detectives nodded their heads and smiled. Vanduran was right on target and backing up this investigation with a new found zeal.

Mira and Vanduran headed for the door with Francis following up at the rear. He was trying to figure out a way to ask Rollie for the tape without getting him suspicious at the same time. As Vanduran said, they were to leave Rollie and Angie out of this.

"So Cap, I see you had a good time on your date!" Mira told him, observing his collar, which he hadn’t noticed, until she showed him. Lucinda’s ‘Wild and Wet Berry’ lipstick had stained his shirt slightly. His cheeks began to match the color of the lipstick stain as he scoffed at her. He bounded down the steps ahead of her, getting into his car as she took the passenger seat, still smiling.

Rollie heard the cry from Angie and swam in a jumbled sea of blanket and sheets as he stumbled out of bed and felt his way into the nursery.

"What?!" he called out, "Angie?"

Another finger of light seared in his mind’s eye as he blinked tightly and made out a very hazy, shadow to his left.

Feeling Angie’s hand grab his right arm, he breathed easier and then it hit him, she had sounded frightened.

"Where’s Aidan?" he asked, startled, and tasted a rush of bile come up his throat.
