Chapter 7 Finding Herself At Last

The next morning after a late night off catching up they all gathered for breakfast where Rico offered to fly them all back to New York the next day. Which was good news to all.

Selena: I can't wait to see New York!

Angie: I can't wait to show you a lot of things….I think this big sister thing is going to be pretty interesting.

Mira: You never know what can happen!

Selena: I know one thing it will certainly be easier to get through today knowing I have my big sister with me.

Judging from the look on Angie's face, her mother knew it would be too much to expect of Angie to attend the funeral. So she came to her rescue by telling Selena it would be just too much to explain about Angie and Mira to the villagers at this time and it would be best if they didn't go.

Angie taking in the disappointed look on Selena's face quickly added, "I'll be right here when you get back..…So just keep your chin up kid."

Selena returned Angie's attention by holding her fist to her chin and nodding. The bonding of the two sisters was heartwarming for all.

After everybody left for the funeral Mira said to Angie, "Finally a chance to catch some ray's, lets go for a dip in the pool.

Angie: I should make a call first.

Mira didn't have to ask to who, she just knew, so she said I'll be at the pool.

Angie was a little anxious about calling Rollie but she was also excited at the same time as she rang the number to the loft.

Rollie: Hello Tyler F/X

Angie: Hi Rollie….How are you?

Rollie: Angie! I'm better thanks. Where are you? Is everything okay?

Angie told him she was fine and then she blurted out about how her and Mira had made contact with her mother and that she even had a little sister. She was so excited about telling Rollie about everything that she talked so fast that he had to tell her to slow down, so after taking a few breaths she then told him everything again and how easy things had went and that she would be bringing her family home.

Rollie: That’s incredible Ange. Wondering if he would lose Angie for good.

Angie: Rollie…I'm sorry I was so stupid in letting what happened with Loubar stand in the way of what we had.

Rollie: What do ya mean what we had? Nervously

Angie: What I hope we can still have…. the best friendship ever.

Rollie sensed that Angie had finally realized how he felt about her something he should have explained to her sooner before Loubar had his way with Angie. He should have made things clearer so that Angie would have never fallen into Loubar's plan so easily. She might not of had to go through such a horrible ordeal. He felt so responsible that he couldn't even make arrangements to go to Australia until he knew for certain how she was. Waiting to hear from her was one of the worst things he had ever had to endure.

Rollie: I'm sorry Angie, I should have been more sensitive to your feelings and told you that I will always love you like a big brother. Its just that you grew up right before my eyes…. into such a beautiful person that I will always love and protect so quick that it caught us both off guard and made us vulnerable to Loubar. I'm so sorry Angie… Will you ever forgive me?

Angie choked back the tears and replied, "It's all in the past now just another one of life's hard lessons….I don't blame you for anything."

Rollie: That’s very big of you Angie….. When are you coming home? I really miss you."

Angie: I miss you too.

Rollie: So when did you say you were coming.

Angie: Tomorrow….I have so much more to tell you, I can't wait for you to meet my mother and Selena. Just wait until you get a load of her she's just like me.

Rollie was so glad to hear the happiness return in Angie voice that he couldn't help laughing at what she said and then he replied, "I can hardly wait either luv."

Angie: See you tomorrow!

Rollie: Yeah I'll be here…. Say hi to Mira.

Angie: Will do, ……Thanks Rollie for everything.

Rollie finally allowed himself time to breathe the time he spent waiting for Angie's call gave him the opportunity to prioritize his life and from now on he would never get so caught up in himself again. The business would always there but most importantly Angie was going to be all right and he would never let her down again he would always make sure she was never left unprotected again. He made that promise to Manny and he was going to live up to it. Besides not having her around was just too darn hard he would have too let her know from now on how important she is.

Being able to talk to Rollie again felt like a weight had been lifted off Angie's shoulders. She quickly went to change and then headed to the pool. Feeling so elated she jumped into the pool making a big splash that showered Mira as she lounged on the side of the pool.

Mira: What the heck? What was that all about? Shaking the excess water off.

"Celebrating!" replied Angie with a huge grin.

Mira jumped in the pool in the same matter and when she joined Angie at the side she asked, "Celebrating what?"

Angie: Life and how great it can be. Belonging!

Mira: Wow that’s a turn around what did Rollie say to you anyway?

Angie couldn't help smirking at how Mira knew she had been talking to Rollie and answered, "You know I'm pretty darn lucky to have friends like you and Rol.

Mira: Boy what has gotten into you?

Angie: Rico helped me to understand about loyalty.

Mira: Rico? Boy did I ever miss out on something fill me in girl.

Angie: Talking to Rico about Selena last night made me understand how Rollie felt about me……He is so much like Rollie is with me when it comes to Selena that it is just…. really uncanny…. It made me realize how lucky I am to have that special relationship with Rollie….. Men like Rollie and Rico are very rare.

Mira: Yeah you can say that again its not often that you see sensitive and sexy at the same time……You have certainly learnt a lot lately.

Angie: Yep! Sure have. Nodding proudly.

Mira: So you and Rico last night huh? So what's he like?

Angie: He really is as sweet as jellybeans. Smiling

Mira: So do you have a thing for him or what? He certainly drank you in last night. Beaming at Angie for an answer.

Angie: You don't know how he feels about me ….besides I'm not ready for that kind of relationship right now. Scowling at Mira

Mira: What makes you so sure? He would make a great catch ….. sexy! sensitive! Rolling her eyes amusingly at Angie.

Angie: Because right now I just want to be a daughter and a sister and a friend.

Mira: I can understand that….So how's Rollie doing?

Angie: He's good he said to say hi….we both now know where we stand. Its something we should have talked about a lot sooner.

Mira: So you're going to back making movies?

Angie: Actually I was thinking about becoming a cop.

Mira: Wow! Who would have believed it?….You know how I feel about that. Smiling proudly at Angie.

Angie: Yeah I know but if someone had told me last week things where going to be so easy and that I would be in a pool in Cuba that belonged to Morales waiting to take my family home. I would have told them they were nuts, but look at us now. I can't believe how things turned out.

Mira: If anyone deserved to have things turn out so great its you.

Angie: Thanks Mira…….Thanks for helping me find my family and myself.
