Chapter Ten

Mira and Francis returned to the FX van.

"Hey Angie? Rollie?" Mira looked around "Where the hell are they?"

Francis shook his shoulders, not knowing the answer anymore than she did. Then he spotted the PDA on the computer console.

"Mira? Theres'a message."

Mira came over and looked at the PDA in Francis's hand.

Rollie in trouble

Gone to help

Pasiphea

Send help

Angie

"Great! Not only did our drug investigation get blown out of the water, now Rollie and Angie are missing."

"Pasiphea? What is that? It sounds familiar--" Francis was in deep thought

Mira snapped her fingers "It's a cargo ship. Rollie asked Angie to check on that name."

"Wasn't Rollie on audio feed?"

"Yes! Let's check it out," Mira looked at the myriad of buttons and colors and lights on the console and in her moment of tension was totally overwhelmed, "I don't know what I'm looking for," she admitted. "I'm going to call for a warrant for the Pasiphea!" at least she could do that, she thought.

"Mira, look at this," Francis pointed at one of the computer screens.

"What is that?"

Francis was twisting his head this way and that to try to make sense of what he was looking at.

"All right Rollie!" he said finally.

Mira was still totally confused by what she was looking at and even more so after what Francis just said and the broad smile on his face.

"What? Tell me!"

"Don't you see?" Francis smiled. "That's Rollie and that," he pointed with his finger, "is Angie and they're--"

"No!"

"Oh yeah!" Francis laughed, sounding like he was cheering a football team, "Oh yeah! It's about time too."

Mira smiled too. It was about time, though she wondered what this meant for Angie's engagement to Paul Richter,  "At least we know they're safe."

"Hold on...hold on!" Francis stilled her hand from the cell phone "They're not so safe...."

Mira called for the search warrant and also for the police surveillance expert to come down. She hoped that he could still patch into Rollie's audio or video so that they could trace exactly where they are being held...before it's too late.

Rollie pulled Angie down into his lap, their kiss sending heat coursing through their veins and only building in intensity, their hands caressing and searching. Angie pushed Rollie's plaid jacket down, trapping his arms at his sides momentarily as her lips brushed his Adam's apple, his throat throbbing. Rollie pulled his arms free and it was Angie's turn. She moaned softly as Rollie's hands went under her shirt caressing her back and coming to her front, finding her breasts. Rollie's lips went down her throat in a trail leading to her breasts as his hand unbuttoned her shirt and he pushed the material away. Angie shuddered and arched her back to accommodate him. Then she cupped Rollie face, raising his face to hers, her eyes smoky. She smiled and kissed him then, her tongue and his mingling together. Rollie's hands cupped Angie's rear, pulling her into him as they started to rock against each other.

"Rollie...." Angie moaned

"Angie...."

Angie's eyes opened slightly as he said her name. She couldn't believe what was happening. She was beyond delirious but as she opened her eyes, she took in their surroundings, blinking as if the surrounding would change.

"Rollie," she murmured softly as she gently pulled away from Rollie's lips, "We can't."

Rollie groaned and his lips came down on hers again, hungry for her.

"Rollie," she said more intently, pulling away again, "we can't. Not here."

Rollie suddenly sobered, understanding her meaning. He pulled away and took her in with his eyes. Her lips swollen, her hair disheveled and her blouse unbuttoned to her waist. His eyes found the swell of her breasts again.

Following his gaze, Angie began buttoning up her shirt. She was still straddling him, his hands resting on her rear.

"Damn!" Rollie growled, disappointed.

Angie placed a soft kiss on his lips as she steadied her hands on his shoulders and rose to her feet.

Rollie rose to his feet then too.

"Damn!" He repeated, "for a moment we weren't here."

Both of them began straightening themselves up. Angie smoothed her shirt down. As she looked up, she caught Rollie's eyes on her. Angie smiled almost demurely, her hand at her neck.

Suddenly, Rollie had her pinned against the wall and they were kissing again, more feverish this time. He lifted her up to his height and Angie giggled at Rollie's ardor. Angie's knee slowly rose up between Rollie's legs eliciting from him a slow, deep moan. He jerked slightly at the touch.

"Angie, are you trying to kill me?"

Angie giggled.

Suddenly they heard the bolt move on the iron door. The sound brought them back to reality. Rollie released Angie back down to the floor but he stood in front of her as they turned to see the door opening. Rollie picked up his plaid jacket from the floor. Two men entered, both brandishing automatic weapons.

"Move it!" one of the men ordered as he grabbed Angie roughly by her arm and threw her out into the hallway. Angie's shoulder slammed into the other wall.

"Ow!"

"Hey, easy!" Rollie yelled, and was promptly sent to his knees in pain as a rifle-butt hit his stomach.

"Rollie!" Angie screamed.

Rollie held his stomach as he tried to get to his feet. Angie put her arm through his and helped him up. Angie glared at the two men.

"You bastards!" Angie hissed clenching her fists as she moved to strike one of them.

"I'm all right," Rollie insisted as he caught her hand. His voice was rough and he was still holding his stomach.

One of the men followed behind pointing his gun barrel at Rollie and Angie. At times he would poke Rollie or Angie with his gun barrel to make them move faster. The other thug was in front of them, leading them down the hallway and then down some metal stairs.

Rollie tried to take in as much of the surroundings as he could. They were on one of the decks of the superstructure, where the crew's quarters and offices are located and were being hurried down some stairs onto the main deck and towards the stern of the ship. They could see the harbor lights and the lights of the city. Angie wanted to run, but Rollie held her hand tight. The risk was too great.

A crewmember maneuvered the derrick to open one of the watertight hatch covers. Then, they were forced to climb down the ladder to the tweendeck.

As Rollie and Angie looked into the darkness they could see...something. And then Angie gasped.

"Rollie?" she said

"I know...I see," he replied.

Suddenly one of the men shoved Angie down into the hold. She screamed as she hit the floor in a thud. Angie barely had time to scramble out of the way before Rollie came crashing down behind her.
