CHAPTER FOUR
 

"Are you all right?" the cousins asked in unison.  The look on Rollie’s face was not a good sign.  He paled when he first saw the envelope and then started to tremble a bit while holding it.  "Rol, I mean are you sure it’s from her? It could be someone trying to fake you out.  Right, Josh?" Kieran prodded.
 

"Yeah, Rol, I mean  Kieran is probably right.  I mean it’s probably just someone playing a cruel joke. "  Josh pause a moment and then hit Kieran in the head.
 

"HEY!!  First of all that hurt my head, second of all it hurt my feelings. You think I would do that to him?!  God, I see him all day with that mopey face on and looking so god-damned sad and you think I would add to that!? Thanks a lot for nothing cousin!!!" Kieran pouted over to the other side of the room.
 

"Kieran didn’t do it; it’s Angela.  I can tell by her writing." Rollie said to no one in general.  "There’s no return address on it and it’s dated about 5 months ago. Well….", he continues to stare at the envelope for a minute more and then drops it on the table. "So, Kieran anything exciting in the mail." Rollie resumed his work on the layouts.
 

"WHAT!?!?  That’s it!?!?  You’re not going to open?!?!  Are you nuts!?!? Hell…if you are not going to open it than I am." Kieran exploded from across the room to grab the letter out from Rollie’s hands.
 

"No." was all that Rollie said very quietly; so quietly that the cousins weren’t sure if he had even spoken.
 

"Why??  After all of this, you are not going to open it? Rollie this could explain everything….."
 

"No…it won’t…it couldn’t; there is no way that it could."
 

"Hey, but aren’t you just …"
 

"No, Kieran, that’s it.  End of discussion.  No more about that letter.  In fact, get rid of it.  I’m going out for a walk " and with that left the factory.
 

Joshua took the letter from Kieran’s hands and proceeded to rip it up.  "Are you nuts!?!?  It must be genetic; the bad side" he finished off with a glare at Josh as he took back what he considered his possession.  "Aren’t you just a bit curious about this letter??  About this girl??  I mean here she is
supposed to be dead and a letter from her is on his desk!?  This Angela is supposed to have meant everything to him if Francis and Mira are to believed, right?"
 

"Yeah so…?"
 

Kieran rolls his eyes heavenward with a muted ‘Give me strength’ prayer, "So, if she is so important to him, why won’t he read it!?  Josh, it was dated over 5 months ago.  She may have written it before she ‘died’ and then mailed it to him.  Maybe it was lost in the mail…he needs to know.  WE need to know.  I
mean we lived with him thru most of this; after putting up with his moods swings I want to know if this girl is dead.  If not, I’m going to kill her myself for letting this happen."
 

"I don’t know…If Rollie finds out, he will kill us!!  Kieran, this is his life…"
 

"Not just his, for all we know, maybe she did something wrong and now needs his help.  Hey, we could be helping her.  OK? We read it?  You’re not going to wus out on me, are you?"  "No, I’m not.  Go ahead read it."
 

Kieran starts to read the letter from Angela to Rollie and after a few moments stops.  "Josh, you were right.  I shouldn’t have read it.  Rollie is going to…not like this a lot."
 

"What?!  What do you mean?  Kieran, what did she say?"
 

"Yeah Kieran what did she say??!!" asked a very angry Rollie in the door way.
