Frank,

I'll let Rollie know as soon as Doctor Taylor and Angie will let me in again. Doctor Taylor is amazing. He's being so gentle and understanding with Rollie. Pretty patient with Angie too. I didn't think they made doctors like that anymore. <grin> Maybe they don't. Maybe that's why I had to come to Australia to find him.

Seriously, Rollie has settled down a bit. He's not quite as bad as before. The nurses no longer go in though. Doctor's orders. He does everything for Rollie himself. I don't know how he finds the time to keep popping in. I think he wants to slowly re-introduce "outsiders" to Rollie. Amazing.

I called Mangela. He says that no, Rollie's mom didn't die in an explosion. He danced around the answer a bit, but finally told me. If it wasn't for Rollie... Well, I don't think he would have said it, but he'll do anything for his "sonny boy".

Okay, here goes. Rollie's mother was pregnant and had a miscarriage. She bled to death. Pretty sad really. Mangela says it would have been a girl. Anyway, the part he was really dancing around is... Rollie found her. Surprised the hell out of Angie when I told her. Seems the few times he mentioned his mother's death, Rollie never mentioned that. He always talked like someone else had found her. Mangela said they sort of hoped he didn't remember. He was pretty young (about 6 or 7) at the time. With all that's going on now, he thinks that Rollie DOES remember. It might explain a few things... Or maybe the memory just popped up and... Well, that would knock anybody for a loop. With all that Rollie's been through already, it may be part of our missing answer.

Mangela promises to deliver your package personally to Rollie when it arrives.

Doctor Taylor is seriously working on getting Rollie discharged into his care. The hospital staff is a bit unsure, but as the Doc says, Rollie is an unusual case that needs special care.

You know? Rollie would hate the fuss and stir he's causing. Guess it's a good thing, he is sort of out of it, right now.

Hang it there, partner,
Mira

P.S. Oh yeah. I almost forgot with everything else. Doctor Taylor says Rollie's knee is doing pretty well, all things considered. Better than he expected actually. He also said Rollie is still facing a long recovery, but he thinks he might be okay if we can get a handle on the... ah... "emotional injury". His words, not mine!
