Chapter Six

Rollie quickly turned around in his chair, and started to trace the call. With it being hooked up on a trace, Rollie and Leo could hear the kidnapper on the other end of the phone, along with Roger.

"Where's my sister and Angie Ramirez?" Roger Benson yelled into the phone.

"Now, Now, Roger, you must have patience. I'll tell you when I'm good and ready. And that's only if you do as I say." A deep male voice on the other end of the phone replied, nonchalantly.

"And just what is it you want me to do?" Roger asked, anger and concern in his voice.

"You have something that belongs to me. And I want it returned." The voice responded.

"What? What do I have that is yours? And who are you anyway?" Roger demanded.

"You know who I am and what I want. We'll be in contact." He said, and then hung up before the director could say anything else.

Roger and Leo both looked over at Rollie, who hung his head, shaking it. "We didn't get the trace. It was too short."

Angie awoke, cold and with Marie's head in her lap. She leaned her head back against the wall, trying to figure a way out of this, when Marie opened her eyes and sat up.

"How we going to get out of here?" Marie asked, quietly.

"I don't know." Angie replied. "But don't worry. We'll get out of this. I'm sure your brother and Rollie have figured out we're missing. If anyone can find us, it'll be Rollie."

Marie just nodded her head, and stayed silent. Then after a few minutes she said, "I think you like him."

"Like who?" Angie asked.

"Rollie." She replied.

"What?!" Angie asked eyebrows raised. "You mean a 'boyfriend and girlfriend' like?"

"Yes."

"Ha. You're wrong there. We're just friends. And co-workers." She told the girl, laughing lightly.

"Well, he likes you." Marie replied her.

"How do you know that?" Angie asked, now very curious.

"He made my brother promise not to bother you anymore. And when your not looking he's always looking at you." Marie replied, smiling.

"Well, we're nothing more than friends and we won't be." Angie responded, finally figuring out what Rollie made Roger promise in return for Marie to hang around them. It mking sense now why Roger suddenly left her alone the next day.
