Because of a traffic accident on the way over it took Leo an hour to get to the loft. When he got there Rollie was pacing around the shop and Angie was sitting on the couch quietly.
"Leo, where've you been?!" Rollie asked as he let the detective in, once he arrived.
"Bad Traffic." Leo replied. "So what's going on? Did Angie remember something about last night?" Leo asked Rollie. Rollie's explanation of why the detective had to get over to the loft was fairly vague.
"Yeah." Rollie said, walking to the lounge, with Leo following him.
"Ang, Leo's here." Rollie told the woman, who looked as she had no recollection that someone else had joined them in the loft.
Oh, hi." Angie mumbled quietly, looking up at the two men.
"Rollie says you remembered something about last night?" Leo questioned. Seeing her nod her head slowly, he continued. "What was it?"
"I remembered something that the guy said to me." Angie told him, then as he motioned for her to continue she told him what the attacker told her the night before.
"Okay, it sounds like you know this guy, Ang." Leo said, once she finished telling him what she remembered. "Anyone in particular come to mind?"
"Bryan Welsh!" Rollie exclaimed suddenly. "Who's he?" Leo asked, looking at Rollie.
"He's the actor in the latest movie me and Ang were working on, Black Fire. He's been harassing Angie on the set since we started the movie a few weeks ago." Rollie told the detective.
"Angie, you think this Bryan Welsh could be the guy who attacked you last night?" Leo asked turning back to the woman who had become quiet.
"I don't know, maybe." She answered shaking her head.
"Angie, come on! How could Welsh not be the guy?! Think about what he said to you last night and the way Welsh has been treating you on the set?!" Rollie exclaimed, throwing his arms wildly in the air.
"Rollie, calm down!" Leo told the upset Aussie, pulling him to the side of the room.. "Angie said she didn't see her attacker. There's no way she can for sure right now if it was Welsh or not. And it isn't gonna help things if you start yelling."
"I know, I know." Rollie replied, looking over at Angie, who was staring off into space. He wasn't even sure she had heard anything that was said after she told Leo what was asked of her. "But Leo everything makes sense. The way Bryan has been acting towards her at the set. And then he comes over to 'apologize'. What a perfect cover. And Angie said that the voice she heard last night did sound like Bryan's."
"Rollie, I'm not saying Bryan Welsh isn't the guy, but we don't have any real proof on it. I'll go talk to him and see what I come up with." Leo told the Aussie, then walked back to the couch where Angie was still sitting, with Rollie following him.
"Angie, I promise we'll find the guy who attacked you last night." Leo told her. He saw no signs she had heard him, and looked back at Rollie.
"Angie? You okay?" Rollie asked quickly kneeling down in front of her. "Angie?!"
Angie was drawn out of her thoughts of her attack hearing her name being called with concern. "What? Oh, I'm fine."
"No, you're not, Angie." Rollie responded standing up as she got up off the couch. "You didn't hear Leo or me talking to you a minute ago. You've been drifting off in your mind all day. I can tell this is upsetting you a lot more than your showing."
"Rollie, I don't know what your talking about. I'm fine." Angie insisted, not looking at him or Leo.
"Ang, you keep saying that but you're not! You were ra.... raped less than 24 hours ago! You can't be alright!" Rollie exclaimed. He just wanted her to stop playing the tough act. It wasn't fooling him. "Angela, I know you're playing the 'tough' act here, and it isn't working. You have friends to help you through this! You have ME! Why won't you let me help you?"
"I can deal with this myself! I don't need your help or anyone else's!" She almost yelled at him, walking quickly up the stairs that led to his bedroom.
"Don't worry, Rollie, she'll come around sooner or later. Just be patient with her and keep on making sure she knows your there for her." Leo told Rollie, putting a hand on his shoulder.
"Yeah, thanks, Leo." Rollie replied, wondering if he made things worse by what he said to Angie.
"And Rollie, I don't want you taking this into your own hands and going to 'talk' to Bryan Welsh or worse. You hear me?" Leo told the Aussie on his way out.
"Yeah, I hear you." Rollie answered. But he still wasn't sure if he'd actually listen to what the detective said.
After Leo left, Rollie looked up at where Angie had disappeared off
to and then walked to his workstation deciding to leave her alone for awhile.
