Angie laid in bed, unable to sleep, thinking about the events of the past couple months. Rollie and her had just got back from Italy. The movie went great. She was glad Rollie thought about leaving early to look around Italy. When the movie started they had no time for anything else. And once the movie finished they had to come back to get ready for another movie that would start a week later.
It might've just been a short two months since her rape, but she was doing much better. She was handling it better. And she started to put it completely behind her, not thinking about it all the time.
Rollie was still there for her all the time. Every night he insisted on driving her home, and even though she protested a little she really didn't mind it. She felt relieved when he did.
She thought about how generally worried he had been about her that day, when she wasn't feeling good. They hadn't left for the set yet, so he insisted she go home, he could take care of everything alone. She didn't go for the idea. He then suggested she stay at the loft for the day and rest and as she was stricken with another round of nausea she accepted. She was sure he had called to make sure she was okay at least every hour or two. And he came home immediately at lunch break. And by then she was feeling better. He still wanted her to go to a doctor but she said she was fine. Probably just the flu or food poisoning or something.
Or something. That's what she thought it was. She didn't want to tell Rollie what she really thought it was. Not till later. Not till she knew for sure.
Finally she got up and getting herself a cup of tea, she went into the living room and watched a movie. An hour later she was asleep on the couch.
The next morning she slept till nine. It didn't matter she slept in late since Rollie had insisted she take a day off and was surprised when she hadn't protested.
She was in the bathroom sitting on the side of the bathtub looking at the box in her hands, when someone knocked at the door.
Sitting the object in her hands by the sink she went to the answer the door. It was Rollie.
"Rollie what are you doing here? Shouldn't you be at the set?" She asked, looking nervously at the bathroom.
"Not till after lunch today. I just wanted to see how you were doing love. I would've brought breakfast but I knew yesterday you didn't appreciate the site of food much so I didn't want to chance you feeling the same way towards it today." Rollie told her, taking his jacket off.
"It's okay. I'm feeling better today." She told him. "Want some tea?"
"That would be great sweetie." He replied.
Angie looked up as she heard him walk down the hall and then to her horror she heard the bathroom door shut. Going into the hall she stopped in front of the bathroom where he had went into.
A few seconds later he opened the door, looking wide eyed and shocked at her. In his hands he held a home pregnancy test.
"Angie......." He started.
"I didn't take it yet." She replied nervously answering his unasked question. "I was about to when you came by."
"Oh." He replied not knowing what else to say, handing it over to her, stepping out of her way as she went back into the bathroom, deciding to get it over with whether Rollie was there or not, it was a whole lot better than talking to him at the moment.
She heard him outside the door pacing. After a few minutes she yelled threw the door, "I can't do this with you right outside of the door!"
"Sorry." She heard him mumble and walk into the living room.
Rollie paced a few more minutes out in the living room then he sat down on the couch. He didn't know what to think. Finding that out happened too quickly. His mind was a mess. Trying to piece things together.
He looked up, hearing the bathroom door open and Angie sit down next ot him.
"Well?"
"I have to wait a few minutes before it shows up." She told him, arms wrapped around her stomach.
"Why didn't you tell me?" Rollie asked quietly.
"Tell you what? That I might possibly be pregnant and get you all worked up over something that might not be true. No. I didn't want to say anything till I knew." Angie told him. "Oh God Rollie, what am I going to do if I am pregnant?!"
"I don't know, Angie. But remember what ever you decide and do I'm by your side the whole time. You won't go through anything alone, you hear me?" Rollie told her, wrapping his arms around her as she leaned her head against his chest.
"Thanks Rollie." She replied.
A few minutes later she went back into the bathroom.
"Well?" Rollie asked anxiously, when she came back out.
"It's positive." She replied quietly.
"And that means you....."
"Pregnant." Angie finished for him.
"Don't worry, Angie everything is going to be okay." Rollie assured her, holding her tightly as she started to cry some.
Sometime later Angie woke up sitting on the couch leaning against Rollie. Looking at the clock Angie saw it was nearly noon. She nudged Rollie in the side, who was also sleeping.
"Huh? What?"
"Rollie wake up, we fell asleep." Angie told him, sitting up. "It's almost noon. Shouldn't you be at the set now?"
"One? Oh I guess." He mumbled looking at her.
"Rollie, I'm gonna be okay. Go. Please." Angie told him nodding her head.
"All right. I'll be back later tonight after the shot is done for the day. About eight." He told her, then grabbing his coat left.
The rest of the day past by slowly for Rollie. His mind was on Angie, but he managed to do his work on the set without goofing up.... much.
Before going to Angie's Rollie stopped off at the loft. Dropping his keys on a table by the door and walked over to the lounge. When he saw Leo on the couch he nearly had a heart attack.
"Oh bloody hell! Leo you nearly gave me a heart attack!"
"Sorry, Rollie." Leo apologized.
"What are you doing here anyway, drinking my beer I might add?" Rollie asked, staring down at the detective sitting on the couch.
"Just wanted to see if you wanted to go for a beer or something." Leo asked.
"No, I've already got plans. I just stopped off here for a minute then I'm off to Angie's." Rollie told the other man.
"She okay?" Leo asked.
"Yeah. I think." Rollie mumbled, trying his best not to say anything to Leo, he knew Angie would kill him if he told anyone without her permission.
"You sound strange Rollie. What's going on?" Leo asked, concerned.
"Nothing Leo. Look if I tell you Angie will kill me. I'm sure you'll find out later anyway." Rollie told him. "Now if you don't mind I'm leaving now."
"Okay." Leo said getting up and following Rollie out of the loft.
Angie was in the kitchen when she heard a knock at the door, knowing it was Rollie.
"Hey Rollie." Angie said letting the tall Aussie in.
"Hey Ange. How you doing?" He asked, slowly.
"Fine." She replied, walking back into the kitchen where she was making some supper.
"Need any help?" He asked.
"Um.... you can cut the carrots." She replied.
"So, you thought about what you're going to do?" Rollie asked slowly.
"Well, first I'm gonna go see a doctor. I got a appointment made out for tomorrow afternoon." Angie replied.
"Then?"
"Then, I don't know." Angie said quietly. "But I think I want to keep the baby, Rol."
"Okay. If that's what you want, sweetie." Rollie told her, moving over to give her a hug.
Rollie had spent the night on the couch at Angie's, even though she insisted she'd be fine alone. But he didn't listen.
Angie was feeling better so she came to the set with Rollie that day. After lunch she took the truck and went to her doctor appointment.
When Rollie got back from the movie set that night, he found Angie sleeping on the couch in the lounge.
"Hey Angie." Rollie said, shaking her slightly.
"What? Oh Rollie." She woke up, sitting up, with Rollie sitting down next to her.
"So, how'd the doctor appointment go?" Rollie asked, wrapping a arm around her shoulders as she leaned her head against him.
"She ran another pregnancy test." Angie told him.
"And?"
"And it came out negative." She replied him.
"What? But the other one....."
"The doctor said sometimes those turn out wrong." Angie told him.
"So you're not pregnant?" Rollie asked, starting to get really confused now.
"Nope. I had her do it two times just to make sure." Angie told him.
"Angie? You don't sound as happy as I thought you'd be." Rollie said, still trying to get things straightened out in his head. One minute she was pregnant. And the next she wasn't.
"I don't know. I mean I am happy I'm not pregnant. Big relief, but it's just...... I guess I was starting to like the idea of being pregnant." Angie told him.
"Well, I'm sure one day you will be pregnant and under better circumstances too." Rollie assured her.
"Yeah." Angie replied, thinking about the future, it all being with Rollie.
The End
